Stephanie Jacobson

LEGAL SUPPORT OFFICER

Stephanie Jacobson

Stephanie Jacobson is a Solicitor, and the Legal Support Officer at NDIStress. With a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws, she brings a strong commitment to advocacy, fairness, and practical legal support within the disability sector.

Prior to joining NDIStress, Stephanie spent several years working within Legal Aid, where she supported vulnerable and disadvantaged individuals navigating complex legal challenges. This experience provided her with a deep appreciation for the importance of accessible advice, effective advocacy, and supporting people through periods of significant stress and uncertainty.

As NDIStress’s Legal Support Officer, Stephanie works closely with our members to help them understand and navigate the increasingly complex regulatory environment surrounding the NDIS. She is particularly passionate about supporting quality providers who are committed to delivering excellent services but find themselves facing complaints, investigations, compliance concerns, or regulatory scrutiny from the NDIS Commission.

Stephanie understands that receiving correspondence from the NDIS Commission, responding to complaints, or becoming involved in a regulatory investigation can be an overwhelming experience for providers. Her role is to help members understand their obligations, consider their options, and approach these situations with confidence, clarity, and appropriate legal support.

She has experience assisting providers during periods of heightened regulatory pressure, including responding to complaints, managing compliance concerns, preparing information for regulatory investigations, and supporting providers through the early stages of Commission engagement. Her practical and measured approach helps organisations remain focused, informed, and proactive while navigating challenging circumstances.

Stephanie is supported by NDIStress’s external legal partner, a leading law firm with significant experience in regulatory, administrative, and litigation matters. This partnership ensures that where matters escalate beyond advisory support, members have access to experienced legal practitioners who can provide detailed legal advice, representation, and court support where required.

Together, Stephanie and NDIStress’s legal team provide members with access to a level of legal support that many providers would not otherwise have available, helping them manage risk, respond appropriately to regulatory issues, and protect both their organisations and the participants they support.

Known for her professionalism, compassion, and calm approach under pressure, Stephanie is committed to helping providers navigate legal and compliance challenges while remaining focused on their core mission of delivering high-quality services to people with disability.
